Today in Nigeria, there have been endless litigations in the Nigerian court of law over land disputes. Most people have lost their land and properties to other people with better titles.<\/p>\n
To avoid one, getting a governor’s consent is one of the steps required to perfect title on lands in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
This is consequent upon, section 1 of The Land Use Act of 1978, which states; \u201cSubject to the provisions of this Act, all land comprised in the territory of each State in the Federation are hereby vested in the Governor of that State and such land shall be held in trust and administered for the use and common benefit of all Nigerians in accordance with the provisions of this Act.”<\/p>\n
